We are living in the age of rapid change. As we know, your car depreciates as you drive it off the lot. That mobile phone you purchased on the first day of release was already out of date when you made the purchase. Technology never sleeps. Hallelujah, neither does our God. Scripture tells us that God neither slumbers nor sleeps.
With that in mind, why don’t we take more time to smell the roses? If God is awake and working 24/7, why are you? As we all work through all the challenges and uncertain days we are experiencing with Covid-19, job losses, virtual homeschooling, government uprisings, and much more, we need to step away from it all and take some time to smell the roses. I mean that literally!
As morbid as it may sound, it is a fact of life, tomorrow might be your last. Look around. Take a good look at your family and friends. When was the last time you said a kind word to them or sent someone a thoughtful greeting?
It is great to be ambitious and highly driven – but we must also keep things and our lives in perspective. Take time to enjoy life. Be sure to stop along the wayside of life to sit and listen to someone else’s heart.
On His way to Calvary, Jesus took time to wash the disciples’ feet and to give the disciples a lesson on servanthood and humility.
Have you been praying to God to give you a humble spirit? Well, here’s your chance to become a blessing. Pray and ask God to let you become an answer to someone’s prayer, and He will show you exactly what to do. God is always looking for those who want to become an instrument that He can use.
John 13:5
After that he poureth water into a bason, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel wherewith he was girded.
