Reproof, correction, and instruction will furnish your entire house.
It feels lovely to move into a new place. I remember sitting on the floor in unbelief with a smile and wonderment of all the things I want to do to fill each room. I even drew a picture of each room and what I wanted in each room on each wall and each corner, the type of chair to the size of the wall TV console. In some cases, it took me several years before I completed each room. But I never lost my vision.
How did you feel when you moved into your first place? I hope it was exciting! You were able to pick out new furniture, gadgets, and devices. Perhaps you created an entirely new color scheme. You rearranged the old furniture, and it took on a brand new look. As exhilarating as that was, it become exhausting. That’s why some of your rooms never get completed. You simply gave up, and it became a junk room, a storage place, or it remained empty.
Sometimes we struggle with furnishing the rooms in our earthen vessels that God has given us. However, leaving those rooms unoccupied, empty or cluttered will either block God from entering or invite Satan to take up residence.
God’s temple has rooms. You must furnish every room with the Word of God. Some rooms are more significant than others. Some have more activity. Because the Word of God is in each room, the Holy Spirit knows what room needs what type of furnishing, I.e., one room needs reproof, while another needs correction, yet that room with all the in and out traffic needs instruction in righteousness. You get the idea.
Next step: Start furnishing your rooms! Ask the Holy Spirit to show you what to place in each room so you will be able to keep the enemy your of your house.
2 Timothy 3:16 (NLT)
All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right.
