Go Back

Belinda Payne • Jul 16, 2020

Sometimes the Lord will send us back to a situation or a condition that may appear hopeless and lifeless to make us complete in Him. Why? Because there are lessons, we need to learn, habits we need to break, and tasks we need to perform. Other times it is because the Lord knows healing and restoration will never be ours if we do not return to face our past. Facing our past will liberate us, so we experience the future God has planned for us. Failure to go back leaves us incomplete.

Jeremiah 29:11

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

What happens when we refuse to go back?

It’s a funny thing about life – we can make it easy or we can make life complicated. There we are overwhelmed and confused, yet we convince ourselves we know what to do and what is best for our future when yet we can barely get through the 24-hours we currently face: the results – frustration, destruction, and despair are iminent.

The reward of obedience?

The Lord, seeks to reward those who are obedient, devoted, and loyal to Him and his purpose. He also delights in those who will trust Him even when they do not understand Him or agree with His decisions. Above all, He is looking for those that rest assured knowing God’s got their back.

It’s always your choice.

When it is all said and done, the decision is yours. You cannot blame others for your choices and god does not crash or break-in to force you to comply with His will.   Think the matter over and weigh the risk. Pray – then pray some more. Now, what patiently for the Lord, Himself, will show you what you must do as you make your return trip. Don’t let others make you feel ashamed for, this is your spiritual journey of healing and freedom! John 8:32 says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”

The conclusion of the matter: Be encouraged, spiritual warriors. God will guid your steps and give you His counsel. Ask for His wisdom. Know that God loves you and He desires that you become free in Him. So, if He sends you back, just ask Him what you need to pack for the journey – faith, hope, power, peace etc.

Psalm 25:2

O my God, I trust in thee: let me not be ashamed, let not mine enemies triumph over me.

More and more people are finding themselves trying to live off of rations. Have you ever had to make do with the remnants of what others have left behind? Just because you don’t like the truth does not make it not a truth. There are what some call “hard sayings” of the Bible. These hard sayings are not defined so because it was difficult for the individual to speak the words. It is a hard saying because those who hear it have difficulty receiving […]
