The Capacity To Love

Belinda Payne • Jul 23, 2020

Do you allow the love of God to penetrate your heart that others may experience God’s divine love through you as Naomi did? Even though there are times in which we feel like our love get’s all knotted and twisted, God says that each one of us has the capacity not only to experience His divine love by having an intimate relationship with Him, but we have the same ability and capacity to extend that love to others through the power of His Holy Spirit. God’s love of redemption is available to all who will receive it.

You will never know what you are capable of until you are under pressure.

The illustration of God’s love being demonstrated and manifested in the lives of ordinary people is nothing new. Sure , you read about the three Hebrew boys in the fiery furnace and Daniel in the lion’s den, but when the tables turn, and now you have to experience God’s love under duress, it’s a different ballgame. The love these four lads had for God was tried by fire and by the physical attack, and they were willing to die for their faith. We do not get any indication that they felt God did not love them nor that God had turned His back upon them. But what we do know is they never turned their back on the Lord. Their capacity to love God grew, even more, when they said,

Daniel 3:17

If it be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of thine hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up.

God stepped in!

The Lord not only saved both Daniel and the three Hebrew boys, but He turned the weapons formed against them upon the one(s) who had formed (devised the evil plot) it, and instead of these faithful men being killed, their enemies died instead. When facing insurmountable opposition, exalt the Lord in your circumstances and watch the Lord step in and turn things around in your favor. The scriptures below tell the outcome.

Daniel 3:27

And the princes, governors, and captains, and the king’s counsellors, being gathered together, saw these men, upon whose bodies the fire had no power, nor was an hair of their head singed, neither were their coats changed, nor the smell of fire had passed on them.

Daniel 6:21-24

Then said Daniel unto the king, O king, live for ever.22 My God hath sent his angel, and hath shut the lions’ mouths, that they have not hurt me: forasmuch as before him innocency was found in me; and also before thee, O king, have I done no hurt.

The conclusion of the matter: These young guys stood by not only their love and faith for God but they believed the love and power of God was with them, to deliver them no matter what it looked like in the natural realm. We must learn to live by faith and not by sight, as these young men demonstrated.
